SKAGWAY: DOCK REPRESENTATIVE

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Our Dock Representatives are the primary contact for local vendors, Shore Excursion managers, and from the various ships we service. They are in view of passengers and ships personnel at all times while working and must maintain a professional manner in dress and attitude. A Dock Representative is responsible for confirming tour numbers on the docks and ensuring that all the necessary Gray Line equipment is staged properly and safely on the docks, and ready to execute the tour departures. Dock representatives work closely with the Dispatcher to prepare the daily dispatch and coordinate all ship requests, questions and bookings to our various vendors or appropriate Gray Line of Alaska manager. They will also orchestrate the distribution of all Shore Excursion rack cards and all GLA brochures throughout Skagway and up the Klondike Highway to Dawson City.
JOB OUTLINE:
- Communicate HAL & third-party shore excursion tour counts to local vendors.
- Collect, secure and reconcile all shore excursion tour tickets so that management can issue accurate settling reports for GLA, the ships and our vendors.
- Assist Division Manager & Operations Manager in the settling process.
- Help prepare daily dispatches for shore excursions, local tours, transfers, and charters.
- Coordinate and assist drivers in the safe movement of coaches and passengers on the cruise ship docks.
- Assist the Sales & Service and Escorted Tour Operations staff in conducting smooth embarkation and disembarkation motorcoach operations off of all HAL ships.
- Solicit product quality feedback through comment card distribution, communication with shore excursion managers and driver auditing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least one season of previous experience with Gray Line of Alaska preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all ships and GLA vendors.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record to qualify for driving company vehicles. Motorcoach license preferred and a valuable asset.

KETCHIKAN: DOCK REPRESENTATIVE

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Our Dock Representatives are the primary contact for local vendors, Shore Excursion managers, and from the various ships we service. They are in view of passengers and ships personnel at all times while working and must maintain a professional manner in dress and attitude. A Dock Representative is responsible for confirming tour numbers on the docks and ensuring that all the necessary Gray Line equipment is staged properly and safely on the docks, and ready to execute the tour departures. Dock representatives work closely with the Operations Team to coordinate all ship requests, questions and bookings to our various vendors or appropriate Gray Line of Alaska manager. They will orchestrate the distribution of all Shore Excursion rack cards. Dock Representatives are responsible for all settlement of Gray Line Tour accounts for all cruise lines; and Holland America Line settlement of accounts for all vendors. Dock Representatives assist the Sales and Service Manager with Gray Line tour sales and Gray Line of Alaska independent tour participants.

- Perform some sales office tasks as dictated by Gray Line guest visitation.
- Coordinate and assist drivers in the safe movement of coaches and passengers on the cruise ship docks.
- Solicit product quality feedback through communication with shore excursion managers and operations staff.
