RATE OF PAY: Starting wage of $9.00 per hour plus incentive bonus upon completion of contract.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Represent Holland America Line and Gray Line of Alaska in a professional and courteous manner. The luggage crew tasks involve transferring luggage between the motor coaches, ships, hotels and airports via luggage trucks. The luggage crew should be in good physical condition and be able to work for extended periods of time lifting up to 50lbs. The crew will help locate misplaced luggage and coordinate all luggage services with the assistance of the Sales & Service department and the Operations staff.

COMPANY POLICIES:
All employees will receive a company policy handbook upon hire and will need to adhere to these policies. Beards must be kept neat and sideburns must be conservatively trimmed. Female staff may wear earrings if they are small non-dangling. Other piercing such as nose, eyebrow and tongue are not allowed while in uniform. All staff will be required to wear a company uniform as prescribed by your job position.

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Represent Holland America Line & Gray Line of Alaska in a professional manner.
  • Under the direction of the luggage crew supervisor, coordinate the accurate and timely movement of all passenger luggages.
  • Work closely with the Sales department and Operations team to coordinate all luggage movements.
  • Assist in keeping a well maintained GLA vehicle fleet.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Some crew will be required to drive the company luggage trucks. In order to do so, you must be at least 21 years of age or older, and must have a clean driving record. A medical card will also be required. Please identify your interest in driving on your resume or application.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting throughout an 8+-hour shift.
  • Ability to work within aggressive timelines.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Supervise, schedule, and train Luggage Crew Handlers.
  • Produce weekly employee schedules.
  • Facilitate luggage operations with the use of tour flows and manifests.
  • Oversee the daily duties of airport luggage truck loading and unloading.
  • Assist in handling guest issues and concerns in regards to luggage situations.
  • Transfer luggage from different locations; hotels, airport, cruise ship terminal, etc.
  • If necessary assist guests with luggage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting throughout an 8+-hour shift.
  • Ability to work within aggressive timelines, to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours and shifts.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions.

Represent Holland America Line and Gray Line of Alaska in a professional and courteous manner. Oversee transferring/transporting luggage between the motorcoaches, ships, hotels and airports via luggage trucks. Should be in good physical condition and be able to work for extended periods of time lifting up to 75lb bags. The manager will ensure that the luggage operation runs smoothly, all luggage within the division is delivered in a timely manner and in good condition.

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Represent Holland America Tours & Gray Line of Alaska in a professional manner.
  • Manage and coordinate the accurate and timely movement of all passenger luggage.
  • Work closely with management coordinate all luggage movements and bring to light any procedural issues or safety concerns as they occur.
  • Endure that vehicles are cleaned and maintained.
  • Communicate with other departments and ships regarding luggage operations.
  • Work with safety department to ensure that drivers are in compliance.
  • Ensure that luggage department schedule is completed.
  • Work with supervisors to enter department payroll hours.
  • Work with Port Manger to ensure that luggage truck operations at the pier are smooth.
