ABOUT US
Since 1988, Holland America Line has offered exclusive riverboat and sightseeing service on the Yukon River between Eagle, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon Territory. Known as the "River of Gold", the Yukon served as the main thoroughfare for thousands of prospectors during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1896-99. The river serves as a gateway to the territory's rich history and the dramatic, unspoiled wilderness celebrated by the works of writers such as Jack London and Robert Service.
As crew aboard the MV Yukon Queen II, you will travel the daily 102-mile journey on the Yukon River providing tour narration, food and beverage service and gift shop sales.
JOB OUTLINE:
- Organize, prepare and serve two meals a day (Including clean-up) for up to 100+ guests.
- Required to sell Beverages and souvenirs onboard the vessel each day.
- Required to maintain the interior appearance of the cabin.
- Pre and Post season: cabin attendants are required to prepare the cabin for start up or shut down.
- Assist Captain and passengers in the event of an emergency aboard the vessel.
- Wear company uniform as assigned and maintain personal grooming in a clean and professional manner.
- Will deliver narration speeches in front of 100+ guests.
- Assist guests with embarkation and debarkation at both Dawson City and Eagle.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Required skills: Team player, professional oral and written communication skills. Good time and stress management.
- Must demonstrate confidence in narration skills and professionalism when interacting with guests and crew.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Job duties may require lifting 30 to 50 pounds (minimum).
- Willing to commit to a minimum 100-day employment contract.
- Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license or passport.
Applicants MUST be able to gain entrance into Canada for this position and
should be fully aware of the requirements for entry prior to accepting
employment offers.
Previous Convictions:
Section 19 of Canada’s Immigration Act prohibits the admission of people who
pose a threat to public health, safety, order, and national security. Prior to
attempting a border crossing, American citizens who have had a criminal
conviction in the past must contact the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate
well in advance to determine their admissibility as visitors into Canada. If
found inadmissible, an immigration officer will advise whether a waiver
(Minister’s Permit) is possible.
PLEASE NOTE: A criminal conviction in Canada is defined as both misdemeanors
and felonies, including Juvenile convictions.

information. Applicants hired into positions that cross into Canada will be
subject to background checks by the Canadian government. Denial of entry into
Canada will result in inability to complete job requirements and will

QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years of age.
- U.S. Citizen or able to legally work in the U.S.
- Must enjoy working with all types of people.
- Must have at least one year of customer service experience.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum 100-day season.
- Must be able to perform a wide variety of customer service and administrative tasks.
- Standard first aid certification is required prior to start of season
