GRAY LINE OF ALASKA - YUKON
WHITEHORSE: Guest Sales and Service Host
Full-time and Part-time Positions (May 12th to Sept. 6th, 2009)
RATE OF PAY: $10.00 to $12.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: Average 30 to 40 hours per week

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Verbally explain tour information, luggage procedures, luggage tags, and departure times.
  • Organize hotel key packets and check guests into hotel rooms.
  • Promote and sell optional tours for Gray Line Yukon (specifically Whitehorse), be able to describe tours and prices in detail.
  • Make reservations, write tickets (vouchers), process money, and complete a daily sales report
  • Assist guests with luggage at all locations.
  • Wear Company uniform as assigned and maintain personal grooming in a clean and professional manner.
  • Will deliver speeches in front of groups up to 50 + people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Required skills: Team player, professional oral and written communication skills, time and stress management.
  • Job duties may require lifting 50 pounds (minimum).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a variety of co-workers within and outside the Company.
  • Demonstrate confidence and professionalism in public interaction, phone conversations and customer service.
  • Willing to commit to a 100-day (minimum) employment contract.
  • Must be 18 years of age with valid driver's license and a clean driving record to qualify to drive company vehicles**.

Full-time and Part-time Positions (May 1st to Sept. 11th, 2009)
RATE OF PAY: Starting at $11.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: Average 30 plus hours per week

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Learning and developing narration tour material applicable for sightseeing city tours within Dawson City, providing the highest possible level of customer service.
  • Able to operate all company assigned vehicles in a safe manner, perform minor roadside repairs and work around automotive fumes.
  • Successfully participating in the Gray Line Yukon Driver Development Program, including submitting to a urinalysis test for alcohol and drugs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Professional, energetic, courteous, flexible and customer service oriented.
  • 18 years of age and Canadian or authorized to work in Canada
  • Possess a current CPR and First Aid certificate and able to lift luggage weighing 75 lbs.
  • Able to provide current, clean drivers abstract and proof you are physically able to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Preferably posses a valid Air Endorsement certificate and/or a Commercial Drivers License.
  • Able to work the season from May to September

DAWSON CITY: Wash Crew
Full-time Position (May 10, 2009 to September 10, 2009)
At least 100 days must be committed. Our operating season starts on May 10, 2009 and ends September 10, 2009. Preference will be given to candidates that can work the entire season.
RATE OF PAY: Starting at $9.00 an hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: 40 hours per week
APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 1, 2009

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Washes and details both the inside and outside of all company vehicles and performs detailed sanitation of motor coaches and other fleet vehicles.

JOB OUTLINE:
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all Holland America Tours vehicles.
  • Assists with basic maintenance duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exhibit an ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Some experience in positions involving vehicle or automotive detailing is preferred.
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.


DAWSON CITY: Jeep Adventure Guide
Full-time Position (May 15th to Sept. 11th, 2009)
RATE OF PAY: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: Average 30 to 40 hours per week

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must enjoy working with all types of people.
  • 21 years of age by February 1, 2009
  • Possess a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record (no more than one moving violation or "at fault" accident in the last three years). DWI, negligent, or reckless driving convictions disqualify the applicant.
  • Provide a current (no older than 30 days) copy of his/her Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Obtain a CPR and First Aid certificate by May.
  • Successfully complete the Gray Line Driver Training Program
  • Must be able to commit to a 100-day season.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience is required.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must possess the skill and confidence to deliver tour narration to large groups of people.
  • Ability to complete minor roadside repairs (changing tires etc.,).


DAWSON CITY: River Guide
Full-time Position (May 15th to Sept. 10th, 2009)
RATE OF PAY: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: Average 30 to 40 hours per week

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum age requirement --- 21 years of age.
  • Graduate of certified rafting program
  • 2-5 yrs rafting experience preferred
  • Will be located in Dawson City, Yukon
  • Wilderness /advanced first aid training and certification
  • Experience/ training in paddle rafting
  • Experience/ training in oar rafting
  • Ability to provide maintenance and general repair of inflatable rafting equipment
  • Communication skills for narrated portion of tour (minimal narration)
  • Ability to deliver, demonstrate and complete safety demonstration and waiver signing to group and individual guests

WHITEHORSE: Driver/Guide

RATE OF PAY:Starting at $12.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
HOURS: Average 30 plus hours per week


JOB OUTLINE:
  • Learning and developing narration tour material applicable for tours to Kluane National Park, providing the highest possible level of customer service.
  • Provide guest assistance to and from the park, as well as organizing and potentially leading hikes and groups once in the park.
  • Successfully participating in the training program for guides and being registered with the National Park and meeting all requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Professional, energetic, courteous, flexible and customer service oriented.
  • 18 years of age and Canadian or authorized to work in Canada.
  • Possess a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Able to provide current, clean drivers abstract and proof you are able to drive a company motor vehicle.
  • Able to work the season from May to September.
