The name says it all. Our All Alaska Tour is packed with so much scenery, history and Native Alaskan culture, that this 10 day/9 night itinerary spills over into the neighboring Yukon. Whitehorse, the Yukon capital, and Beaver Creek, deep in the interior, give your vacation the unique perspective that few other Alaska vacations offer.
Day 1: Juneau We'll greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day as you like.
Day 2: Juneau - Skagway Take a last look at Juneau as you transfer to the airport for your scenic flight to Skagway. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a lighthearted history lesson on a city tour. You'll have time for exploring on your own in this frontier town before snuggling in for the night.
Day 3: Skagway - Whitehorse This morning you'll board the cars of the White Pass & Yukon Route railway. Rumble to the summit of White Pass and watch for remnants of the Stampeders' trail along the way. Upon arrival in Fraser, British Columbia, you'll board a motor coach for the continuing journey to Whitehorse, capital city of the Yukon.
Day 4: Whitehorse - Beaver Creek Enjoy the endless panoramic views as you travel further into the Yukon. This evening arrive in Beaver Creek, where you'll enjoy a boisterous dinner show and Yukon-style barbecue.
Day 5: Beaver Creek - Fairbanks Your motor coach driver may regale you with favorite tales on the way to Fairbanks, Alaska's Golden Heart city.
Day 6: Fairbanks Kick off your day with a visit to the fully restored Gold Dredge No. 8, pan for gold and enjoy a delicious miner's lunch. Finish the day with a fascinating cruise on an authentic sternwheeler.
Day 7: Fairbanks - Denali This morning, transfer to the rail depot where you'll board the luxurious railcars of the McKinley Explorer. Upon arrival at Denali, you'll transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, get a deeper understanding of one of North America's most remarkable national parks on the Natural History Tour. You'll marvel at Denali's awesome beauty, and hear colorful stories about the area's cultural and geological history.
Day 8: Denali - Anchorage Journey between the mountains of the spectacular Alaska and Talkeetna ranges aboard the luxurious glass-domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer on your return trip to Anchorage.
Day 9: Anchorage Tour Anchorage, including a stop at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, then travel to Portage Lake and board the mv Ptarmigan for a memorable cruise to within 300 yards of Portage Glacier.
Day 10: Anchorage Your tour ends with a transfer from your hotel to the airport.
