Immerse yourself in the unique history and overwhelming beauty of the Yukon. Beginning with a trip through some of Alaska’s finest cities and Denali National Park, you will make your way into the Yukon through the dog-mushing city of Tok, and along the mighty Yukon River aboard the majestic mv Yukon Queen II. With naturalist excursions and trips to Dawson City, Whitehorse and Skagway, this tour is truly unforgettable!
Day 1: Anchorage We’ll greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 2: Anchorage Tour Anchorage’s top spots, all the while within view of three stunning mountain ranges. Then travel to Portage Lake and board the mv Ptarmigan for a memorable cruise to within 300 yards of Portage Glacier. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 3: Anchorage – Denali Travel deep into the spectacular mountains of the Alaska Range aboard the luxurious glass-domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer past Mt. McKinley to Denali National Park. Overnight Denali.
Day 4: Denali - Fairbanks Come with us on a morning Natural History Tour to explore our favorite parts of Denali National Park and try to spot moose, caribou, bear and Dall sheep. The afternoon is reserved for an enchantingly scenic ride aboard the McKinley Explorer to Fairbanks. Overnight Fairbanks.
Day 5: Fairbanks – Tok Kick off your day with a visit to historic Gold Dredge No. 8, pan for gold and enjoy a delicious miner’s lunch. Finish with a fascinating journey on the famed Alaska Highway to the village of Tok. Overnight Tok. (L)
Day 6: Tok - Dawson Listen as your motor coach driver regales you with favorite tales on your way to the settlement of Eagle. Cruise the mighty Yukon River aboard the mv Yukon Queen II into the very heart of Klondike gold country. Overnight Dawson. (D)
Day 7: Dawson Today is free for optional tours. Choices include a city tour, river rafting or self-drive Jeep tours of the gold fields. Or take a motor coach to Tombstone Territorial Park, where options include guided hiking and naturalist excursions. Overnight Dawson.
Day 8: Dawson – Whitehorse Travel along the beautiful Klondike Highway. After lunch in Minto, you’ll arrive in Whitehorse, capital city of Yukon. This evening, take in the hilarious Frantic Follies Revue. Overnight Whitehorse. (L)
Day 9: Whitehorse – Skagway Experience the summit of White Pass and watch for remnants of the Stampede Trail along the way down to sea level. Overnight Skagway.
Day 10: Skagway – Juneau Explore picturesque Skagway this morning. Take a last look at the spectacular natural setting of Skagway on the transfer to the airport. Fly to Juneau and transfer to your hotel in Alaska’s capital city. The rest of the day is free for exploring on your own. Overnight Juneau.
Day 11: Juneau We’ll take you to the airport and sadly say our good-byes until next time. This Tour Includes:
