Day 1: Anchorage After we transport you from the airport to your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy. Explore Anchorage on your own, browsing the downtown shops and restaurants. Or, if time allows, join an optional guided activity. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 2: Anchorage Anchorage is a center of Alaskan history and culture showcased this morning on an informative city attractions tour. Afterward, sightsee by motor coach to Portage Lake where you’ll board the mv Ptarmigan for a memorable cruise that takes you within 300 yards of the actively calving Portage Glacier. Relive the day’s highlights back at your Anchorage hotel. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 3: Anchorage – Denali Enjoy the views from your luxury glass-domed railcar and then soak up nature from your comfortable lodge. You’ll have plenty of time to settle in, relax, and then set off to explore. A wide variety of optional excursions makes it easy to sample Denali’s outdoor lifestyle and our optional Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre makes your evening a memorable one. Overnight Denali.
Day 4: Denali Venture into Denali National Park to enjoy a pioneer enactment and the historic Savage Cabin and to sightsee to Primrose Ridge on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. If the skies are clear, you’ll enjoy awesome views of Mt. McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Later, take in an optional activity like golfing, fly-fishing, flightseeing or river rafting. For a memorable evening, join an optional horse-drawn covered wagon tour including dinner at a forest pavilion. Overnight Denali.
Day 5: Denali – Seward This morning embark on a scenic journey via motor coach. You’ll trace the coastline of Turnagain Arm, pass through the Chugach Mountains and arrive at the port town of Seward on the Kenai Peninsula. You will quickly see that Seward is more than just a pretty town. Rich in seafaring culture and marine wildlife, Seward boasts a bustling marina and beautiful views of Resurrection Bay. Day 6: Seward – Anchorage The morning is free for you to explore on your own. Afterward, you’ll enjoy a scenic wildlife and glacier cruise, lunch included, through magnificent Kenai Fjords National Park. Your friendly crew will point out porpoises, sea otters, seals, whales and dozens of seabird species. Later, travel the Alaska Railroad route back to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage. (L)
