Day 1: Anchorage
After we transport you from the airport to your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax. Explore Anchorage on your own, browsing the downtown shops and restaurants. Or, if time allows, purchase an optional activity. Overnight Anchorage hotel.
Day 2: Anchorage
Sightsee by motor coach to Portage Lake where you’ll board the mv Ptarmigan for a memorable cruise that takes you within 300 yards of the actively calving Portage Glacier. Then, stop by the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center on your return to Anchorage. The AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round, providing spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Day 3: Anchorage – Denali
Enjoy the views from your luxury glass-domed railcar and then soak up nature from your comfortable lodge. You’ll have plenty of time to settle in, unwind and then set off to explore. Day 4: Denali
Venture into Denali National Park on a popular Denali Park Tour, the Tundra Wilderness Tour - your best chance to view wildlife in Alaska. If the skies are clear, you’ll enjoy awesome views of Mt. McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Later, choose an optional activity like golfing, fly-fishing, flightseeing or river rafting. For a memorable evening, join an optional horse-drawn covered wagon tour including dinner at a forest pavilion. Overnight Denali-area hotel.
Day 5: Denali – Seward
This morning, embark on a scenic journey via motor coach. You’ll trace the coastline of Turnagain Arm, pass through the Chugach Mountains and arrive at the port town of Seward on the Kenai Peninsula. You will quickly see that Seward is more than just a pretty town. Rich in seafaring culture and marine wildlife, Seward boasts a bustling marina and beautiful views of Resurrection Bay. Day 6: Seward – Anchorage
The morning is free for you to explore on your own. Afterward, you’ll enjoy a scenic wildlife and glacier cruise, lunch included, through magnificent Kenai Fjords National Park. Your friendly crew will point out porpoises, sea otters, seals, whales and dozens of seabird species. Later, travel the Alaska Railroad route back to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage hotel. (L)
