Gray Line of Alaska Adds New Optional Land Tours in 2008 - 03/04/2008
New tours feature Denali, Alyeska, Fairbanks and Anchorage

SEATTLE, Wash. - With thousands of travelers choosing to explore Alaska with Gray Line of Alaska each year, the company has added optional tours that appeal to an increasingly broad range of interests ranging from fly-fishing and flight seeing to bear viewing and hiking.

Travelers wanting to see Alaska by car, deluxe motor coach or by luxurious full-domed rail can choose from Gray Line’s single and multi-day tours. A diverse selection of optional tours offers travelers more opportunities to further customize their Alaskan vacation.

“With ever-greater frequency, we hear from guests who want to explore the interior of the Great Land,” said Mark Mumm, director of sales and marketing. “For them, Gray Line can offer the sheer grandeur of Denali to the excitement of wild animal viewing. These new tours put our guests right into the heart of the Alaska experience.”

In Fairbanks, a Wildlife Viewing by Air tour takes guests on a scenic 90-minute bush plane flight over wetlands and the Alaska Range looking for moose and Dall sheep. A full refund is offered if no wildlife is spotted. Another new tour in Fairbanks is Evening at the Museum of the North.

In Denali, the Stampede Trail ATV Adventure follows the same path taken by Chris McCandless, as detailed in the recent movie based on Jon Krauker’s book Into the Wild. This self-drive ATV narrated trip includes viewpoints to see Mt. McKinley, opportunities to spot wildlife and a snack and beverage around a campfire. Other new tours in Denali include Fannies Flapjack Feed and three Denali Hiking Excursions: Steps Through Time Hike, Denali Highway Adventure Van Tour and Rock Creek Trail Hike.

In Anchorage, travelers can go to where the fish are biting on the One-day Fly-In Fishing: Fly Casting or Spin Casting. Fly by seaplane to a remote lake or stream to fish for salmon, trout or graylings with an experienced guide leading the way. Other new tours here include Knik River Jet Boat Tour, Redoubt Bay Flightseeing & Bear Viewing, Lake Clark National Park Bear Viewing Tour and Chugach Mountain Explorer Flightseeing. In nearby Alyeska, there is a new Twentymile Jet Boat Tour.

Details can be found at www.graylineofalaska.com. The pre- and post-cruise tours are available to all travelers, regardless of which tour or cruise line is used to travel to Alaska. Arrangements and reservations for Alaska tour packages can be made with your travel agent or via the Gray Line web site.
