2008 - McKinley Explorer Rail - Fairbanks to Denali
The adventure of train travel has never been more enthralling. Panoramic views in the upper-level observation lounge and open-air viewing platforms bring wildlife and wilderness up close.

Luxurious glass-domed observation cars carry you along the rails of the historic Alaska Railroad. Take in the wide-open scenery as you travel, through the town of Nenana, where Nenana Ice Classic competitors attempt to predict the date of ice breakup on the river, and the Mears Memorial Bridge, which is one of the largest single span railroad bridges in the United States.

Relax in the observation lounge or enjoying leisurely dining service for breakfast or lunch.

By early afternoon the train arrives in Denali National Park.
