2008 Excursion - Kenai Fjords National Park Tour
The Alaska Railroad passenger train leaves downtown Anchorage and travels through scenic Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. On one side of the train watch for Beluga whales that chase spawning salmon. On the opposite side of the train Dall sheep are often seen on the towering Chugach Range cliffs. When these animals are spotted, the engineer usually stops the train so passengers can snap photographs.

Upon arrival in Seward, you'll embark on a very popular tour into the heart of Kenai Fjords National Park. Explore these deep fjords and the impressive amounts of wildlife that make their home here. Watch for Humpback Whales, Orca Whales, Seabirds, Sea Lions, and Otters, among others. Journey to the face of Aialik Glacier and witness this massive glacier thundering into the sea. The trip is narrated by our certified captains, who captain the most modern fleet of vessels in the state. Enjoy lunch on board, and keep track of your route with our flat screen monitors displaying the map of the National Park.

Return to Anchorage via the Alaska Railroad.
