2009 Excursion - Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise & Tour
From Anchorage, sit back and enjoy the scenery in our deluxe motor coach along Turnagain Arm and through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel.

Spend a magnificent afternoon exploring the calm, protected waters of Prince William Sound, renowned for its numerous tidewater glaciers and spectacular scenery. Your first stop is at the Wally Noerenburg Salmon Hatchery. Keep an eye out for bald eagles, which regularly surround the fishing grounds. Upon leaving the hatchery, you will cruise through the spectacularly narrow and green Esther Passage. This passage opens up to Port Wells and an amazing display of glaciers ahead. This is your best opportunity for viewing sea otters as you pass large rafts numbering in the hundreds. Your next destination is Surprise Glacier, the most dynamic of the many glaciers in Harriman Fjord. Cruise among the harbor seals and sea otters hauled out on the icebergs to rest. Cruising out of Harriman Fjord on your way back to Whittier, you will stop at the head of Barry Arm where three tidewater glaciers converge at the water’s edge. Enjoy a delicious Alaskan crab lunch served on board. This cruise is fully narrated by an experienced captain—a certified naturalist. The cruise is approximately 100 miles round-trip.

Relax on your return trip to Anchorage by deluxe motor coach.

Includes a narrated transfer along scenic Turnagain Arm and travel through North America's longest rail/vehicle tunnel. Child is under 12 years of age. Dress warmly, it can be cool in front of the glaciers.
