2010 Excursion - Sun Dog Kennels
Approximately 1.5 hours. Your tour will begin in downtown Talkeetna. After a short narrated drive, describing the history of Talkeetna and sled dog racing you will visit an authentic log cabin, meet the dogs and see a demonstration of sled dog harnessing and mushing preparation. At the rustic log home of World Champion sprint musher Kathleen Holden and Top 20 Iditarod musher Gerald Sousa, you will be introduced to one of their racing teams. Experience the exhilaration of being pulled by the dog team on a wheeled cart (availability of afternoon tour is temperature dependent).
