DENALI SIGHTSEEING TOURS

This tour is for the more fit travelers and a good alternative to motorized tours of similar length. It involves four and a half hours of walking over greatly variable terrain. While still a narrated tour, the interpretive hike covers more ground than a walk and explores the glacier topography in depth, sometimes off trail. It is the best way to feel and smell the wilderness travelers come to see. This tour gives our small groups (6 guest maximum) a chance to see the forested area near the Nenana River, and a variety of wildlife habitat and vegetation. No food is provided on this tour. Guests should bring food, if needed. Bring water and appropriate clothing for changeable weather, including cool temperatures and rain.

Maximum age is 80 years. Maximum weight is 300 lbs. Must be in good physical condition. Wear outdoor clothing and hiking shoes. Bring water and snacks. Trekking poles provided. Extra rain gear available, if needed. Tour is not suitable for pregnant guests. Guests with back, neck, heart or mobility problems are not allowed to participate. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be cancelled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Tour operates subject to meeting a minimum number of participants. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed. Hiking is approximately 4½ hours.
