2008 Denali Summer Special - Anchorage to Fairbanks - All Rail

If you're looking for great value in a Denali mini-vacation, this is it! You'll travel from Anchorage to Denali National Park on the luxurious McKinley Explorer railcars and enjoy a one-night stay in Denali. Once in Denali, you'll have many optional tours to choose from, including National Park tours, self-drive Jeep tours and flightseeing, just to name a few! After your Denali stay, reboard the McKinley Explorer and complete your scenic journey with a trip to Fairbanks.
Day 1: Anchorage – Denali Journey between the mountains of the spectacular Alaska and Talkeetna ranges on an incomparable sightseeing experience aboard our luxury McKinley Explorer domed rail-cars. Take in the wide-open scenery as you travel through the Matanuska Valley, a farming region known for mammoth vegetables; past colorful towns like Wasilla, billed as the "Home of the Iditarod;" and along scenic rivers like the Susitna, which means "Mother River". By afternoon you arrive in Denali National Park. Here, you can choose from a wide range of optional activities like river rafting, helicopter flightseeing, or horseback riding.
For an entertaining way to top off the day, enjoy the optional Cabin Nite Dinner Theater.
Day 2: Denali – Fairbanks Take time this morning to choose from one of many complimentary park-sponsored activities and optional Denali tours including guided hikes plus white-water rafting, fixed-wing flightseeing and horseback riding.
Later, re-board our McKinley Explorer domed rail-cars and journey to Fairbanks. Your tour ends with a transfer to a downtown hotel (accommodations not included). This tour includes:
