Your adventure starts with Denali Gold Tours along the Parks Highway. Hear stories depicting the life of Alaska’s homesteaders, gold rush miners and trapping pioneers. Next, you will be outfitted with a rain poncho, gloves, boots and gear for a true Alaskan gold panning experience. Your narrated tour continues west on Petersville Road (a federally designated scenic highway) sightseeing along the road to the Petersville/Cache Creek historical mining area. Panoramic views of South Denali and the Alaska Mountain Range provide photo opportunities and wildlife viewing along a gravel road for 18 miles. Very few tourists get this kind of off-road experience. At Peters Creek, you will enjoy a hands-on experience of how to pan for gold. Alaska is rich in history for its gold, but the everyday gold adventurer may only find flour gold and often find nothing. You will be provided with a small souvenir vial of gold to take home!

Special Note

Wear comfortable walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed. Tour will operate rain or shine.

This tour can only be booked in conjunction with a Denali rail tour. To add this tour to your package, please visit the Guest Service Desk upon arrival at your hotel or call 1-888-425-1737 to book in advance.
