This 5-day, 4-night tour is packed with unforgettable sights and adventures. Venture north from Anchorage to Denali National Park, enjoying scenic vistas and watching for wildlife as you travel. Spend 2 enjoyable nights in the Denali area and take an optional tour like river rafting or ATVing. Later, reboard the train for an enjoyable trip to Fairbanks.

Upgrade your rail experience from Denali to Fairbanks for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's GoldStar service instead. Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase. GoldStar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and dinner aboard the train is included.
With the standard option, rail travel from Anchorage to Denali is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade option applies only to the portion of the trip from Denali to Fairbanks.
Unless noted, tour is not escorted and does not include meals, sightseeing or home city air.
Day 1: Anchorage
We'll transfer you from the airport to your hotel. Overnight Anchorage hotel.
Day 2: Anchorage – Denali
Enjoy an incomparable experience aboard luxurious domed railcars. Take in the wide-open scenery as you travel through the Matanuska Valley, a farming region known for mammoth vegetables; past colorful towns like Wasilla, billed as the "Home of the Iditarod;" and along scenic rivers like the Susitna, which means "Mother River." By early evening you arrive in Denali National Park with time to explore the area. Overnight Denali-area hotel.
Day 3: Denali
Enjoy this full day in Denali any way you choose. Stop by the Tour Desk to learn about optional excursions in the area. This evening, enjoy an unforgettable dinner experience at Music of Denali Dinner Theater at McKinley Chalet Resort. Overnight Denali-area hotel. (D)
Day 4: Denali – Fairbanks
Take time this morning for a stop at the Denali Visitor Center where you can hike, hop a shuttle to the park’s sled dog kennel or view an award-winning film. Later, board Alaska Railroad's Adventure Class service for your trip north to Fairbanks. Along the way, you’ll pass through tunnels, cross over massive engineering feats like the Mears Memorial Bridge, and see a variety of natural wonders from deep gorges and lowland marshes to dark seams of lignite coal. Overnight Fairbanks hotel.
Day 5: Fairbanks
Receive a transfer to the airport where your vacation in Alaska is complete.
