Experience luxury rail travel as you journey from Anchorage to Fairbanks. With a night at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge in Denali State Park, and a night at Denali National Park, there’s ample time to experience the abundant wildlife and to visit viewpoints for the "Great One."

Upgrade your rail experience from Denali to Fairbanks for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's Goldstar service instead. Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase. Goldstar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and dinner aboard the train is included.
With the standard option, rail travel from Anchorage to Talkeetna and Talkeetna to Denali is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade option applies only to the portion of the trip from Denali to Fairbanks.
Unless noted, tour is not escorted and does not include meals, sightseeing or home city air.
Anchorage and Fairbanks accommodations and travel to and from the Anchorage and Fairbanks railroad depot are not included.
Day 1: Anchorage – Talkeetna
At the depot in Anchorage, board a luxury railcar and journey to the town of Talkeetna, the inspiration for the show "Northern Exposure." You’ll stay at the beautiful Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, featuring quite possibly the most awesome view of the "Great One" in the state. Once there, you’ll have time for optional activities such as hiking and river tours. Overnight Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.
Day 2: Talkeetna - Denali
Enjoy a morning at leisure, then return to Talkeeta to continue your journey to Denali on our domed railcars. This afternoon, you'll arrive at Denali National Park. Visit the tour desk for information on optional activities available in the Denali area. To top off your day, experience one of several wonderful dining establishments in the Denali canyon, or book rafting excursion along the Nenana River. Overnight Denali-area hotel.
Day 3: Denali – Fairbanks
Wake up for optional morning activities. Later, board Alaska Railroad's Adventure Class for your journey to Fairbanks where your tour concludes at the rail depot.
