Explore Alaska from the comfort of your own rental car. This enticing 9-day Alaska tour lets you explore two of the state's most popular national parks - Kenai Fjords and Denali - all at your own pace. With a number of included excursions, this tour package is perfect for the truly independent traveler!

Prices include a compact car. During checkout you will have the ability to upgrade to a full-size car or a small SUV for an additional charge.

Day 1: Anchorage
Overnight: Anchorage
We’ll transfer you from the Anchorage airport to your hotel upon your arrival where you will receive your copy of The Milepost. Overnight Anchorage hotel.
Day 2: Anchorage - Cooper Landing (100 miles)
Overnight: Cooper Landing
Pick up your rental car from Avis in downtown Anchorage. Drive to Cooper Landing and on the way stop for your cruise on Portage Lake where you’ll get up close to Portage Glacier. End the day at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge, located on the banks of the Kenai River.
Day 3: Cooper Landing
Overnight: Cooper Landing
The day is yours to explore the Cooper Landing area and other communities of the Kenai Peninsula in your rental car. Enjoy another night at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.
Day 4: Cooper Landing - Seward (47 miles)
Overnight: Seward
Drive to Seward and embark on your Kenai Fjords Cruise, a scenic glacier & wildlife cruise along the coast of the rugged Kenai Peninsula. Overnight at a Seward hotel. (L)
Day 5: Seward - Talkeetna (240 miles)
Overnight: McKinley
Drive north to Talkeetna and explore the town that serves as base camp for Denali climbers. Overnight at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, 50 miles north of Talkeetna in Denali State Park.
Day 6: Talkeetna - Denali (105 miles)
Overnight: Denali
Today, explore Denali’s south side or depart early for the drive to Denali National Park. Overnight near the park entrance.
Day 7: Denali
Overnight: Denali
This morning embark on a guided tour for opportunities to see bears, caribou, moose, wolves and Dall sheep. The bus will pick you up at your hotel and travel into the park on the famous Denali National Park Road. Overnight Denali hotel. (S)
Day 8: Denali - Anchorage (238 miles)
Overnight: Anchorage
Drive from Denali to Anchorage and return your rental car in downtown Anchorage. Enjoy one last overnight in Anchorage before the conclusion of your tour.
Day 9: Anchorage
We’ll transfer you to the airport at the end of your tour.
